A new brand that’s Certified Bonkers

Rarely do you get to create a brand that's sole purpose is to bring weird, wonderful, unbridled joy. Bonkers was one of them.

Our team had been trend forecasting, and observing the shifts in culture and media consumption that were emerging at the time. We identified an opportunity to build a TikTok-first pet brand that celebrated the quirkiness of pets. We pinpointed the elements of success to target our GenZ consumer: leaning into the bizarre, anti-design, and galvanising with humour.

With just a name on a drawing board to start with, the very trusting design team at ZURU Edge/Rhodes Pet Science gave us free reign to stretch our brains into some seriously strange territory.

The result was a delightfully oddball brand strategy, positioning, tagline and tone of voice, and a brand new way of describing, drooling over and talking about pet snacks.

Bonkers’ Whiffy Good Snacky Snacks are delighting pet lovers all over the globe: currently the fastest growing pet treat brand in the world, it’s running wild in 13,500 stores (and growing), and has swiftly become the most liked pet brand on TikTok.
